Move towards Nav Theta, and destroy the first star of 2 Maddogs and a
Hellbringer. Be careful not to allow any of these 'mechs to enter the Sensor
Array Dome.

The next star consists of a Maddog and a Hellbringer, which comes from bearing
255. Fire at them until they begin to retreat, or you may want to destroy
them quickly. This is because the next star will powerup from the other side
of the Dome.

The last star comes from bearing 003, and you will have to destroy the
Hellbringer and the Stormcrow, as they will want to destroy the Sensor Array
Dome.

The targets of opportunity are the 2 Falcon dropships which are behind the
hills and the second and third enemy star.

Head for Nav Iota to complete the mission.

There is a far easier way to go about this mission. Simply head for the first
nav point that's nearest you when in the crater and go towards the dropship.
The two 'mechs there are not ready for you, and you can take one of them out
without it powering up. Take out the other 'mech and proceed to the dome to
take out the 3 guarding 'mechs.

With that complete, head towards the other dropship and take out the two
'mechs that will be coming at you. After that, it's time for the dropships.

My experience with the dropships on this level is that you take off their
outer shielding/armor and then go at their front end (cockpit?). If you
circle the dropship at all times, you generally won't get hit by the volleys
of missiles, PPCs and lasers. Hitting the sides of the dropships definitely
take longer, but it is possible if you have enough time. (The hitting the
front end of the dropship after taking off the armor takes out the dropship
quicker).
