Once the mission starts, a Hellbringer will approach from bearing 035. A
while later, an enemy dropship will unload a Jenner and a Summoner at the
NorthEast corner of the Firebase. Soon, a Kitfox and a Firemoth will appear
from bearing 090, and a Stormcrow and a Nova will appear from bearing 200.

You should attack and damage all of these 'mechs, so that the Rules of
Engagement forces them to fight with you. Destroy all 'mechs with whatever
means you prefer (crippling them first, concentrating on each 'mech until it
is destroyed), but allow the least amount of firepower to land on the
Firebase. If the Firebase is destroyed, you will fail the mission.

After destroying all 'mech units, return to Nav Gamma to finish the mission,
while 2 friendly dropships arrive as reinforcements.

This is where you defend the firebase. You need to move quickly on this one.
I had my starmate defend the base while I ran around and hammered on people.
The first few mechs will attack and run off, trying to draw you away. Don't
let them. You do not need to destroy all the enemies (although it helps).
Just stay alive long enough for reinforcements to arrive.
