Mechs Used

I used three mechs. They were all customised Timber Wolfs. The two starmate
TimberWolfs had 4 streak SRM 4 and 4 jump jets and then filled up with all
the SSRMs ammo they could carry, in total they were carrying 1600 missiles or
400 shots. The mech I was piloting also had 2 ER PPCs instead of some of the
SSRMs ammo.

The Mission

I first commanded my starmate to engage at will, to attack the tanks and
aircraft. I opened the throttle to max and targeted the mech directly ahead
of me, but in the far distance. I then used the jump jets to increase my
speed towards the targeted mech. When within PPC range, I fired on the mech,
careful as not to destroy it. When I came within SSRMs range I used a few of
these, again careful not to destroy the mech, just damaging it heavily. When
you are within about 200m of the mech, you then identify it and when it comes
back with the name you will find that this is the mech you need to identify
and destroy for one of the primary mission goals. You can now destroy it,
which should not take very long using the PPCs and SSRMs.

Once destroyed, turn around and destroy all the tanks and aircraft. Next, you
need to destroy the second mech that is on the nearest side of the convoy.
The mech should still be standing still, so you should get in good shots with
the PPCs. Also command your starmates to help. Next, you need to go after the
convoy using the jump jets to increase speed.

Target the left-hand side convoy vehicle and identify and it should come back
saying staff, command starmates to destroy. Now, move on ahead while they
destroy the vehicle and target the single aircraft and destroy it.

Move on ahead using the jump jets until you can target one of the next two
mechs in front of the convoy. Command starmate 2 to attack your target,
target the other mech and command starmate 3 to attack your target and then
help out with destroying the mechs.

Do the same for the 2 guns that are also infront of the convoy. When the guns
are going, you have completed the secondary mission of destroying all
defending mechs.

Now, turn around and target individual vehicle in the convoy and identify
them. If they contain staff command your starmates to attack your target and
move onto the next vehicle. If they are just escort vehicles, move onto the
next vehicle and repeat the process. Do this until all vehicles that contain
staff are identified and destroyed. You will then have complete the second
primary mission.

You can finish there or destroy all the remaining convoy vehicles and then
head towards the drop ship.

That took me 3 evenings playing to first get the correct mech setup and the
correct strategy.
